Nandur Madhyameshwar

In Maharashtra there are some places very popular with bird watchers hoping to sight migratory birds. While most of these places are known only to regular bird watchers, hey have the potential to attract even regular tourists. The Nandur Madhyameshwar bird sanctuary is one such place. Due to the variey of birds that flock here in the migration season, it is apty known as Mini Bharatpur.

• Flora  -
  The region has thick forest and a home to many a rare species of flora.
• Fauna -
  Storks, sandpipers, kingfishers and red wattle lapwing can be seen in large numbers. The loud chattering of parrots and the sound of the crow pheasant provide slightly raucous background music. Drongos, hornbills and robins can be easily spotted.
  
• Nandur Dam  -
  A dam has been built on the confluence of the Godavari and Kadva rivers & there is a large reservoir formed due to it. With dense forests and rich bird life, this is an ideal place to visit.
